Kothagudem: CPI (ML) New Democracy leader Potu Ranga Rao has demanded strict action against a forest beat guard Mahesh who allegedly misbehaved with adivasi women at Sakivalasa village of Mulakalapalli mandal in the district.

In a statement here on Friday, Rao alleged that the forest guard assaulted three adivasi women who had gone to the forest to pick firewood. One of the woman fell into a ditch during the assault. Not leaving at that, the forest guard grabbed the woman’s skirt and disrobed her, Ranga Rao alleged and said such incidents of atrocities of the forest personnel against adivasis was continuing.


He demanded immediate suspension of Mahesh and an inquiry into this incident. The Forest Department should provide medical treatment to the injured woman, he added.
