Kothagudem: Nava Bharat Rural Development Society (NBRDS), established by Nava Bharat Ventures Limited at Paloncha in the district has been presented ‘Award of Excellence’ at a recently held Global NGO Expo-2021, which witnessed participation of around 525 NGOs.
The society was acknowledged as one of the best NGOs in India for promoting impactful social practices towards economic and educational progress of downtrodden sections in rural areas, informed Nava Bharat vice president, Y Srinivasa Murthy here on Saturday.
With the society, established in the year 1980 as part of the CSR initiative, activities like building classrooms in government schools, constructing roads, installing RO plants, sinking bore wells in the villages and other infrastructure development works were taken up.
In addition to that, rural youth and women were being given computer, vocational, tailoring and crafts training through Nava Bharat Vocational Institute and Nava Bharat Women Empowerment Centre, he added.
