Kothagudem: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested a deputy tahsildar (Civil Supplies) along with two others in a bribe case at Yellandu in the district on Monday.
The accused deputy tahsildar, Mohammed Yakub Pasha, allegedly demanded Rs.30000 from a ration shop dealer for not sending a report against the shop, where shortage in rice stocks was found during inspections on November 7 and for closing the shop during working hours.
Pasha along with Vijay Kumar, the technical assistant (ePoS) at Girijan Cooperative Corporation, was caught red-handed while they were receiving the amount at a cell phone shop at Yellandu. The local Ration Shop Dealers Association president, Pothu Shabarish, who mediated in the case on behalf of the shop owner, handed over the amount to the duo.
The ACB arrested Yakub Pasha, Vijay Kumar and Shabarish, and seized the tainted amount. They would be produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal, said an official release. It was learnt that Pasha, when working as a revenue inspector at Konijerla in Khammam, w
