Kothagudem: Fire accident at KTPS 7th stage
Alert staff doused the fire using fire extinguishers and prevented a major mishap from taking place.
Kothagudem: A fire accident took place at KTPS 7th stage, 12th unit at Paloncha in the district on Tuesday.
Sources said damage to a high pressure (HP) bypass oil O-ring of the turbine lead to the fire accident. Alert staff doused the fire using fire extinguishers and prevented a major mishap from taking place.
The KTPS 7th stage Chief Engineer Venkateshwar Rao, who inspected the incident site, told the media that there was no damage to the plant and it was being run uninterruptedly.
Coal miner injured
In an accident at SCCL’s Padmavathi Khani 5 incline underground mine at Kothagudem, K Suresh, a labourer, suffered minor injury on his hand when a tub used to haul coal from the mine hit him.
The incident occurred when he was joining the transportation tubs with one another. The injured miner was rushed to SCCL Main Hospital at Kothagudem and given treatment. The mine Safety Officer Ravi Kiran and TBGKS area secretary Md Razak called on the injured miner.
