Kothagudem: Police seized ganja worth Rs 13.50 lakh and arrested four persons, including a woman, in Aswapuram mandal in the district on Friday.

Manugur ASP, Dr. Shabarish P, in a statement informed that the seized ganja was found in a car during vehicle inspections by ASI, K Nageswara Rao and staff at Mondikunta and the substance weighed around 90 kilograms.

The arrested were identified as Mohammed Sabhir and Mohammed Mariyam of South Delhi, Mohammed Toufiq Khan and Soni Sumith of Maharashtra. They were smuggling the ganja from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh to Delhi, the ASP said.

The police seized the car along with three mobile phones and a cash of Rs 70,150 from the possession of the arrested persons.
