Kothagudem girl wins gold in State-level wrestling tournament
Harika, a 17-year-old wrestler from Julurupad in Kothagudem, won gold at the SGF State-level Wrestling Tournament in Hyderabad. She defeated wrestlers from Warangal, Rangareddy and Hyderabad to qualify for the national-level competition

Kothagudem: A girl from the district won a gold medal in the SGF State-level Wrestling Tournament held in Hyderabad.
The 17-year-old wrestler from Julurupad, who was selected for the State-level competition, qualified for the national-level tournament by winning the gold medal after defeating wrestlers from Warangal, Rangareddy and Hyderabad.
Harika belongs to a middle-class agricultural family and has shown interest in wrestling since childhood. Her father Balaraju, an agriculturalist, and mother Sujatha, a government teacher, encouraged her. She was trained by renowned wrestling coach Kashi Hussain.
Sakhi Women Protection and Welfare Foundation chairman, advocate Mohammed Sadiq Pasha, and others congratulated Harika. She thanked coach Hussain and all those who supported her.
