Kothagudem: Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner ( Central) D Srinivasulu has asked the SCCL management and contractors to uphold contract workers’ rights. He spoke at an awareness programme organised for the officers, principal employers, contractors and contract workers working in Kothagudem, Yellandu, Manugur and the Corporate Areas to create awareness about the worker’s rights under different labour laws.
The programme was organised by Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner ( Central) in association with the SCCL as part of Iconic Week of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav being celebrated from March 7 to 13.

Srinivasulu suggested making efforts to offer ESI facilities to contract workers so that the workers and their families could receive better medical treatment. He thanked the SCCL Director N Balaram, GM (Personnel IR & PM) A Ananda Rao and team for their support in organising the programme.
ALC Laxman said that the government should ensure timely payment of minimum wages to contract workers, implementation of bonus of 8.33 percent and see to it that pay slips were provided in a timely manner. Ananda Rao informed that the SCCL CMD N Sridhar has taken steps to ensure that minimum wage and bonus was paid to contract workers. The Contract Workers Unions JAC leaders submitted a memorandum of demands on the occasion.
General Managers Narsimha Rao, K Basavaiah, Ch Ramesh Babu and D Ramchander, CMPF Assistant Commissioner Kanakamma, Labour Enforcement Officers Sudhakar, Jagadish and Shankar Rao and others were present.
