Kothagudem: SCCL dumper operator killed in accident at OC2 mine in Manugur area
The deceased, Moolchand (60), whose retirement was due in seven months, died when a 100 tonne dumper, he was operating, overturned while unloading overburden at the mine’s dumping yard in first shift hours.

Kothagudem: A dumper operator working at SCCL’s opencast mine-2 at Manugur in the district died in an accident in the mine on Thursday.
The deceased, Moolchand (60), whose retirement was due in seven months, died when a 100 tonne dumper, he was operating, overturned while unloading overburden at the mine’s dumping yard in first shift hours.
The operator was said to have jumped out of the vehicle when he sensed that the dumper was going to be overturned and his head hit a boulder causing his instant death after a profuse bleeding. He was recently transferred to Manugur area from Kothagudem area. The vehicle was damaged partially.
The SCCL officials rushed to the mine; launched a probe into the incident and shifted the body to Manugur SCCL Area Hospital.
