Kothagudem: Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju asked the people in the low-lying areas of river Godavari to be alert as the water level in the river was gradually rising at Bhadrachalam and flowing rapidly.
He informed that the district police department has been taking measures in coordination with other departments to prevent any untoward incidents. Public should come out only if there is an emergency.
Due to heavy rains for the last two days, streams and rivulets have been overflowing in some parts of the district. People should not go to the rapidly flowing streams for videos and selfies as it could pose risk to their lives, the SP said.
Motorists should take appropriate precautions while traveling. If anyone is in a critical situation, the public should immediately call dial-100 to use the services of the police, Rohith Raju added.
