Kothagudem: Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju on Wednesday handed over the reward money sanctioned by the government to three Maoists who recently surrendered before the district police.
Cash cheques worth Rs 9.50 lakh were handed over to Ram Singh Kaude alias Naroti Manish (Rs 5 lakh), Muchiki Sondal alias Naresh (Rs 3.75 lakh) and Sodi Bheeme (Rs 75,000). The reward money was given for their rehabilitation, the SP informed.
Maoist party leaders, driven by selfish interests and outdated ideologies, forcibly recruited innocent tribals into their party and made them engage in illegal activities. The district police will always support the surrendered members of the CPI (Maoist) party, he said.
The SP urged the underground cadres of the Maoist party to lay down their arms and fight for the rights of the people in a democratic manner. Those who want to surrender to live a normal life may do so through their relatives, local police or in front of the SP, he said. Additional SP (Operations) Narender and RI (Operations) Ravi were present.
