Kothagudem: The works related to the development of Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams in all mandals have been going on at a brisk pace in the district.
The State government after developing over 19,000 Palle Prakruti Vanams in the villages across the State planned to develop one Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanam in each mandal headquarter or in any village close to the mandal headquarter in all the districts to increase greenery.
It is planned to develop the parks in an area of about 10 acres and the government has already accorded administrative sanction for developing the parks. Similarly, it is also planned to develop four mini Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams in all the mandals.
Following the government instructions, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) had acquired an extent of around 166.89 acres of land in 22 mandals in the district to develop the parks, said the District Rural Development Officer (DRDO), G Madhusudhana Raju.
By November end
Speaking to Telangana Today, the official said that the steps were taken to plant 2,500 to 3,000 saplings in each acre in the parks. “In total, 3.60 lakh saplings will be planted in 22 mandals. The development of land and plantation has been completed in 18 mandals. The works are yet to be completed in four mandals, Chandrugonda, Aswaraopet, Burgampahad and Dummugudem as the land acquired in those mandals are in dispute, the officer said.
Work is under way to identify and acquire the alternate land for the parks in those mandals, Raju noted, adding that the land required for setting up of 33 mini Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams was completed and the plantation would be completed by the end of November month.
“Once the development of Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams and mini Bruhat Palle Prakruthi Vanams is completed, every mandal will soon have a mini forest” he averred.
