Hyderabad: The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), which has been functioning from Jala Soudha in Hyderabad for the last 10 years, will be shifting its headquarters to Amaravathi very soon.

The Andhra Pradesh government, in a letter addressed to KRMB Chairman, requested the shifting of the river board’s headquarters to Amaravathi as required under the AP Reorganisation Act. Stating that the Department of Water Resources would be providing necessary assistance in AP’s new capital, it insisted on immediate relocation of the board.

The KRMB was reminded that the relocation issue was discussed even in the last meeting of the KRMB meeting on January 21. However, the employees who were working in the board on deputation from both the Telangana and AP governments, have been insisting on continuing the board in Hyderabad till the end of April so that they can shift their children to AP ahead of the new academic year.
