Hyderabad: The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) has asked Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to furnish the salient features and parameters to be incorporated in its website to upload the daily discharge of operational projects in the Gazette Notification of India issued in July 2021.
In a letter to Telangana Irrigation and CAD Department, Engineer-in-Chief and AP Water Resource department Engineer-in-Chief, the Board member LB Muanthang said the KRMB should have jurisdiction over Schedule-3 projects as per notification, but functions as provided in sub-section (1) of Section 85 of the Act should be performed by the respective States on behalf of KRMB as per its directions.
Accordingly, the Board requested the States to furnish the salient features and parameters of operational projects along with the flow diagram of canal system showing all outlet points from reservoir/river at the earliest.
The list of operational projects include Siddapuram Lift Irrigation Scheme, Nagarjuna Sagar tail pond, Vedavathi (Hagari) River Lift Irrigation Scheme and Guru Raghavendra Lift Irrigation Scheme under the AP government while Water Grid Project, Utkoor-Marpally reservoir project, Asif Nehar canals, Veepunagandla reservoir, Himayatsagar drinking water and flood protection project, Osmansagar drinking water and flood protection project, Shamirpet Lake, Saralasagar project, Sangambanda project, Lakhnapur project, Singotam lake and Jutpally project under Telangana government.
