Ksheera Waterfalls beckons nature lovers of Mancherial
Nestled in dense forests on the outskirts of Medaram village in Mandamarri mandal, the seasonal nature wonder is beckoning nature aficionados and picnickers of not only Mandamarri town
Mancherial: Are you tired of long drives and holidaying in far-off places? If you are looking for a brief outing and trekking in the wild and spend time leisurely at a waterfall on a weekend, Ksheera or Bodhara waterfall is an idyllic and stupendous nature destination.
Nestled in dense forests on the outskirts of Medaram village in Mandamarri mandal, the seasonal nature wonder is beckoning nature aficionados and picnickers of not only Mandamarri town, but also various parts of the district. The fall is flowing in its full glory with the district registering incessant rains for the past few days.
“The fall was discovered in the recent past. However, it has become the most-sought after destination for nature lovers and picnickers of the district. Whenever the district records rains for three days in a row, water cascades down from over 100 feet, giving a pleasant experience to visitors. I visited it multiple times”, P Shyamsunder Reddy, a retired SCCL employee told ‘Telangana Today.’
Favorite destination of Coal miners
Coal miners living in not only Mandamarri, but also in Ramakrishnapur, Mancherial and Srirampur towns are now making a beeline to the pristine waterfalls. For these people, the Ksheera water fall is turning out to be the best place for relaxation.
Waterfall has no road facility
True to its name, the waterfall looks as if milk is cascading down. The picturesque spot is located in the thick forests of Medaram village. It can be reached only after a crossc country trek of around three kilometers since it has no road facility. Nature lovers suggest that one can easily spot it with the help of locals or shepherds who are familiar with its locality and way to the spot.
“Since there is no proper path from Medaram to the waterfall, the visitors are likely to lose their way and not find the location. So, they should visit it under the guidance of locals. I made an unsuccessful expedition to the spot recently. I was exhausted and had to return without having a glimpse of the waterfall”, Shyamsundar recalled. It can be developed as a tourist spot by creating basic amenities, he added.
How to reach
Visitors can reach Medaram village on Mancherial-Asifabad route and 10 kilometers away from Mancherial town. They can locate the waterfalls if they trek for about two kilometers from Medaram. They can also spot it from Gandhari Fort, situated on the outskirts of Bokkalagutta village in Mandamarri mandal, but need to walk for around five kilometers.
