Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao extended his support to Srinivas, a tea stall owner in Sircilla, who faced government action allegedly after naming the stall after the former Minister and displaying his picture.
Speaking to Srinivas over phone, Rama Rao assured him that a new shop would be set up soon and urged him not to lose hope. “I will take complete responsibility of you and your family. I will get you a new shop and inaugurate it as well. Do not be discouraged,” he told Srinivas.
The controversy erupted after officials in Sircilla seized Srinivas’ tea stall near Bathukamma Ghat two days ago, citing lack of trade licence. They removed the name and picture of the BRS working president on the tea stall.
The crackdown escalated further when authorities used a crane to remove his tea stall on Friday and took it away in a tractor, leaving his family without livelihood.
Shattered over this, Srinivas along with his family sat on a dharna, demanding justice. Reacting to the incident, Rama Rao directly reached out to Srinivas and condemned the government’s actions. His assurance came as a relief to Srinivas and his family, who have been left struggling due to the sudden eviction.
