RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao came to the rescue of the family of a flood victim in Sircilla town by providing financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh on Wednesday.
Ganga Kishan (35), a construction labourer, was washed away in flood waters in Sircilla on Tuesday, and his body was subsequently found on the outskirts of the town on Wednesday.
According to police, Kishan, a resident of Shanthinagar, left home for work on Tuesday morning. Shanthinagar, a low-lying area, was submerged by flood water. Kishan slipped and was washed away in the strong current. Morning walkers found Kishan’s body in an agriculture field near the by-pass road and informed the police who rushed to the spot and shifted it to the hospital for postmortem.
Kishan is survived by his wife Sandhya, son Ramu, daughter Lahari and mother Shanthamma. The Minister expressed his condolences to the victim’s family. Municipal Chairperson Jindam Kala visited Kishan’s family and handed over the cheque to his wife.
