Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the Congress leadership for the increasing violence targeting the BRS leaders and workers perpetrated by the ruling party goons, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has strongly condemned such incidents increasing in Kollapur constituency. In a statement, he described the attack in Naryanayak Thanda as a heinous act and a clear indication of Congress’s growing lawlessness.
He pointed out that the attack in Naryanayak Thanda occurred just a day after a similar incident in Satapur. The violence perpetrated by Congress leaders targeting the BRS workers went on unchecked. He criticized the police for their inaction and accused them of siding with the ruling party.
“Is this what governance means- indiscriminately attacking those who voice the concerns of people in distress?” he questioned. Likening the prevailing situation in Kollapur to the emergency days of Indira Gandhi’s regime, where democratic rights were suppressed, K T Rama Rao noted that Kollapur, which had enjoyed a decade of peace under BRS rule, has seen a surge in faction-style attacks since Congress came to power. He attributed this culture of violence to the support and encouragement from Minister Jupally Krishna Rao.
“BRS cadre will not be intimidated by such attacks. We will continue to hold this incompetent government accountable and fight for the people,” he asserted. He demanded that the police act responsibly and take strict action against the perpetrators of the attack.
