Hyderabad: BRS working president and former Minister KT Rama Rao said the commissioning of Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies’ Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) at its Giga Corridor in Mahabubnagar was the outcome of efforts made by the previous BRS government to position Telangana as a major energy storage hub.
In a statement, Rama Rao said the CQP marked a key milestone in Amara Raja’s Rs. 9,500-crore investment in Mahabubnagar and termed it one of the biggest investments secured by the BRS government in the energy storage sector.
He said the facility would bridge battery research and development with commercial manufacturing by enabling product and process qualification ahead of commercial production at the company’s Gigafactory next year. He added that the project would further strengthen Telangana’s position as a leading hub for advanced energy storage manufacturing.
