KT Rama Rao ridicules Revanth Reddy’s claims of “historic achievement’
He charged the Congress with misleading the public with blatant lies, despite the previous BRS regime issuing around 6.47 lakh ration cards without turning it into a publicity exercise.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao ridiculed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s claims of a “historic” achievement by issuing new ration cards. He charged the Congress with misleading the public with blatant lies, despite the previous BRS regime issuing around 6.47 lakh ration cards without turning it into a publicity exercise.
He reminded that even Deputy Chief Miniter Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other Congress leaders participated in the ration cards distribution in 2021 during the BRS regime.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan after unveiling the BRS Vidyarthi (student) wing’s New Year’s diary and calendar on Monday, Rama Rao criticised Revanth Reddy for failing to deliver on the promises made during the election campaign, pointing out that despite guaranteeing six major schemes within 100 days, none had been fully implemented even after 14 months in power.
“On January 31, it will be 420 days since Congress made its 420 promises,” he quipped. Marking the Congress failure to deliver its electoral promises, he called the party cadre to submit representation to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi on lies and failed promises of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on January 31, as a mark of protest.
The BRS working president took a dig at Revanth Reddy for giving contradictory statements on Rythu Bharosa distribution within 15 minutes span during the launch of welfare schemes on Sunday. “Revanth Reddy announced that Rythu Bharosa disbursement will commence from wee hours of Monday, but within no time, he declared that the amount will be disbursed upto March 31. He is behaving like the character in “Aparachithudu” and needs treatment,” he said.
Rama Rao termed the implementation of four schemes in around 600 gram panchayats against more than 12,000 gram panchayats, as another ploy to deceive people and gain votes in the local bodies elections. However, he said people of Telangana were clever and could see through Revanth Reddy’s deceit.
Highlighting the BRS government’s achievements, the former Minister noted that Telangana saw unparalleled progress under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, with notifications issued for 2.32 lakh jobs and 1.6 lakh jobs filled, 1,600 new Gurukuls established, and significant investments in education and infrastructure. In contrast, the Congress government was all about mismanagement, unresolved issues in Gurukuls and unfulfilled promises of employment.
He reiterated his commitment to Telangana’s development and questioned the Congress’s credibility, stating, “We achieved Telangana through sacrifices; the Congress played the role of a midwife, claiming undue credit.”
On the Congress government’s claims of attracting over Rs 1.48 lakh crore investments to Telangana at Davos, Rama Rao termed them as hollow as their electoral promises. He reminded that none of the Rs 40,000 crore investment proposals from last year had materialised till date. “If the investments are genuine, Revanth Reddy should announce timeframe on their operationalisation. We are ready to felicitate him if he ensures their grounding,” he declared.
