Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao lambasted the Congress government for betraying Telangana’s farmers by backtracking on its loan waiver promise. He demanded Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to apologise to the people of Telangana for the betrayal.

Reacting to the government’s declaration that loan waivers above Rs 2 lakh will not be granted, Rama Rao rebuked the Congress for its failure to implement electoral promises. He reminded that the Congress leaders visited temples, prayed to deities, took every oath and told every lie, promising to implement complete crop loan waiver.

“The Congress leaders have deceived farmers to win votes, only to change their stance after coming to power. They promised loan waiver for all farmers before elections, but now, they restrict it to one per family,” he said.

The BRS working president charged the Congress with tearing its own Warangal Declaration into shreds, calling its governance a betrayal of Telangana farmers. He said the Congress made promises for votes, but now giving excuses to fulfill them.
