Hyderabad: In a blistering attack, BRS working president K T Rama Rao charged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy with secretly colluding with the BJP leaders to safeguard his position, while Telangana reels under crises.
He demanded that the Chief Minister come clean on his alleged backdoor dealings, terming them shameful actions against the people’s mandate.
“The Chief Minister is indulging in backdoor politics with BJP, but publicly pretending to oppose it. If the Chief Minister has nothing to hide, let him reveal what these secret meetings with BJP leaders are about,” he dared.
In a statement, Rama Rao termed Revanth Reddy “Cheap Minister” for finding time to make deals with the BJP, but failing to address the pressing crises of farmer suicides, dried-up crops, and tragic student deaths in Gurukul schools.
He slammed the Congress party for engaging in a dirty political culture where leaders prioritise their power over public welfare. He suspected that these secret meetings were part of a larger conspiracy to destabilise Telangana’s progress.
He dared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to act against Revanth Reddy, especially after BJP MLA Raja Singh’s remarks hinted at an alleged Congress-BJP understanding. “Rahul Gandhi claims that there are BJP coverts in the Congress. Now that it has been exposed, will he dare to act against his own Chief Minister?” he asked.
The BRS working president said Revanth Reddy’s secret meetings indicate his insecurity about his position which was on shaky ground.
He said the Congress had a history of stooping to new lows including creating divisions among people for its political survival and the secret meeting between the Chief Minister and the BJP leaders was another example.
“Telangana society will not tolerate such ugly politics,” he warned, stating that both the Delhi-based parties do not understand Telangana’s interests and the BRS will fight back against their conspiracies.
