Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Friday extended his full support to Telangana folk litterateur and Padma Shri awardee Darshanam Mogulaiah, assuring him of medical assistance and intervention to resolve his ongoing land dispute.
Mogulaiah, a noted folk artist from Telangana, called on Rama Rao at his residence to pay his respects and share his grievances. Deeply concerned about the artist’s health, Rama Rao enquired about his condition as Mogulaiah narrated his difficulties, including deteriorating eyesight and lack of access to proper treatment. Responding immediately, Rama Rao promised to arrange comprehensive care at Hyderabad’s L V Prasad Eye Institute.
“I will personally take responsibility for ensuring your full treatment at L V Prasad Eye Hospital,” he assured.
Mogulaiah also spoke about the harassment he had been facing from certain individuals over the 600-square-yard site allotted to him by the previous BRS government. He mentioned frivolous court cases and the demolition of a room he had constructed on the site. Acting swiftly, Rama Rao called Ranga Reddy District Collector A Narayana Reddy, apprised him of the situation, and directed prompt action.
“Resolve this matter immediately and ensure justice for Mogulaiah. Provide necessary protection to him and his family,” Rama Rao told the Collector. He also pledged legal assistance to counter the cases filed against the Padma Shri awardee.
An emotional Mogulaiah credited former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for transforming his life. “Once, I played the kinnari in the forests for a living. It was KCR’s affection that brought me recognition, putting my art on the world stage and paving the way for the Padma Shri,” he recalled.
Mogulaiah expressed gratitude to KCR for supporting his family through difficult times and appealed to Rama Rao to help resolve his land dispute.
