Sangareddy: Giving a fresh ray of hope to the poor people who were living in government lands across the States without proper allotments, Minister of IT and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao assured to get an order issued to regularise such lands for the benefit of the poor.
Responding to a request made by Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy, who urged the Minister to allot the house sites to poor people in his constituency, the Municipal Administration Minister said that GOs will benefit all such people across Telangana.
Rama Rao, who was on the Sangareddy tour, has inaugurated seven vehicles meant to carry bodies from Hospitals. The vehicles were donated by different industries with their CSR funds. The Minister also laid a foundation stone for the Vegetable and Meat market at the by-pass road in Sanagreddy on Thursday. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, the Minister said that they will build an ultra-modern Market in Sangareddy at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore.
When the Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy and former MLC Chintha Prabhakar demanded allocation of more funds for Sangareddy and Sadasivapet Municipalities, Rama Rao has granted Rs 50 crore additional funds. He said that they will release the amount in a week’s time by completing all the formalities.
Pointing out the rapid transformation of urban areas during the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government’s rule, the Minister said that Sangareddy and Sadasivapet Municipalities were getting Rs 15 crore and Rs 7.5 crore respectively every month under Pattana Pragathai while the 141 urban bodies in Telangana together were getting Rs 3,041 crore. However, Rao said that the previous governments had failed to build even a pucca market in Sanagreddy town until today. Stating that they had already taken up the construction of integrated markets in 141 Municipalities in Telangana, Rao said that they had granted Rs 500 crore towards the project besides spending another Rs 200 crore on equal number of Vaikuntdhamams. Unlike earlier governments, Rao said that they were working for construction development in the urban areas under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar.
Asserting that the government was not showing any bias in allocation of funds to constituencies where the opposition party leaders were elected, the minister said they have allotted a medical college and nursing college to Sagareddy Constituency on which they were spending Rs 550 crore.
When MLA Jagga Reddy urged the Minister to extend the Metro services until Sangareddy, Rao has clarified that it would not be possible to extend the service as of now because the Covid-19 has pushed the public transportation system into deep financial trouble. However, they will certainly look into the request when the situation arose. The Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy has urged the Minister to grant a couple of other markets to Sangareddy town to meet the needs of the fast-expanding city.
MP BB Patil, MLAs Chanti Kranthi Kiran, M Bhupal Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Manjusri, Sangareddy Municipal Chairman B Vijayalakshmi, Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration N Satyanarayana, Collector M Hanumantha Rao and others were present.
