KTR assures to take up polytechnic students’ concerns over GO 97 in Assembly

BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday met students of Mahatma Gandhi University and Nalgonda Government Polytechnic College and received petitions over GO 97, diploma courses, ECET admissions and alleged irregularities in MGU’s outsourcing recruitment process.

Nalgonda: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday received representations from students of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) and government polytechnic students over issues concerning their education and recruitment. MGU students and polytechnic student representatives separately met Rama Rao near the university’s main gate and submitted petitions while he was on his way to participate in the farmers’ protest in Miryalaguda.

The polytechnic students raised concerns over GO 97, which they said had created uncertainty among students of the Nalgonda Government Polytechnic College. They sought continuation of the three-year diploma course, clarity on BTech lateral-entry admissions through ECET and an end to uncertainty over the SBTET framework, higher education and employment opportunities. They also urged the BRS working president to put pressure on the government to withdraw GO 97 immediately, citing the interests of students.

Meanwhile, MGU student leaders sought a probe into alleged irregularities in the university’s outsourcing recruitment process. They alleged that rules were violated and that transparency, the roster system and government regulations were not followed in the appointments.

Rama Rao responded positively to the students’ concerns and assured them that he would take the issues to the government and work to ensure justice. He assured them that he would raise their issues in the Assembly, if needed.
