Hyderabad: Pointing out a sharp decline in real estate and infrastructure development, BRS working president KT Rama Rao blamed the Congress government for ruining Hyderabad’s prosperity within 15 months of its rule. He cited the latest reports indicating 49 per cent drop in house sales in Hyderabad, while office leasing fell by a 41 per cent between January and March 2025.
He stated that due to the Congress government’s short-sighted policies, the realty sector had suffered severe blow. He said the Musi Riverfront Development project and HYDRAA demolitions were being misused for political gains. “While the poor are being displaced, the properties of elite citizens are being spared for hefty amounts,” he said.
Rama Rao criticised the government for demolitions instead of development and warned that even real estate traders were being driven to despair. “Learn to build, not to demolish. Learn to develop, not to lie,” he remarked, holding the Congress responsible for the crisis.
