Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responsible for the death of an eighth-grade student, Sravani, at a BC Girls’ Hostel in Kamareddy district. He demanded that the government provide Rs 25 lakh compensation to the bereaved family and ensure full support to them.

Calling the incident deeply tragic, he said the Congress government’s mismanagement of hostels and residential institutions led to a decline in basic standards, including food quality and facilities. He demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances leading to Sravani’s death and stringent action against those responsible.

Taking to social media, Rama Rao stated that the Gurukul institutions, which functioned effectively during the tenure of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, has deteriorated under the current Congress rule. He said several student deaths in recent months, indicated a system failure and negligence.
