Hyderabad: Stressing that people were vexed with the Congress rule, BRS working president KT Rama Rao called upon the party cadre to gear up for the local body elections and capitalize on the anti-Congress wave in the State.
In the 14 months of the Congress rule in the State, 420 farmers had died while 100 auto drivers and 30 weavers too had died by suicide. People were up in arms against the Congress government and party leaders, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who was now afraid to step outside without security, he said.
Addressing party leaders and workers from Sirpur Kagaznagar at Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday, the BRS working president said the Congress had failed on all fronts.
“Humiliated by the people’s abuses, other leaders would have died by suicide. But Revanth Reddy is least bothered,” Rama Rao remarked.
For acquiring 110 acres in one village, over 400 police personnel were deployed and people were threatened. Unlike BRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao, who strived for the welfare and development of weaker sections, Revanth Reddy was usurping the poor people’s lands, he said.
Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, Chandrashekhar Rao had ensured that all welfare and benefits reached the farmers. Financial assistance was extended under the Kalyana Lakshmi programme and pensions were offered to the elderly, he reminded.
People have now realized that Congress had deceived them by assuring them to fulfill the six guarantees. With the people’s blessings and unrelenting support of the party cadre, Chandrashekhar Rao would become the Chief Minister again, Rama Rao said.
The BRS working president also asked the party cadre to select the candidates for the local body elections in their respective areas and assured that the party would extend all support. All the party activists should strive for the BRS party candidate’s victory, he said.
Sirpur Kagaznahar has a unique significance and was like a mini Bharat as all communities live peacefully there. As per the directions of the BRS supremo, the paper mill was opened in the region to ensure employment for people. Many development works were taken up in the region during the BRS tenure and much more were to be taken up, he added.
The BRS working president stressed that under the leadership of RS Praveen Kumar, the cadre in Sirpur Kagaznagar should register a thumping victory in the elections. The BRS party flag should be hoisted in all the seven mandals of Kagaznagar constituency, he said.
