Warangal: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao denied Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s allegations linking him to Globarena Technologies and challenged him to produce evidence within 48 hours or face civil, criminal and defamation proceedings. He accused the Chief Minister of making false, malicious and defamatory allegations without proof.

In an informal interaction with the media in Warangal, Rama Rao faulted Revanth Reddy for lowering the dignity of his office by spreading fake news over a sensitive issue such as examination irregularities. “The Telangana Chief Minister should start acting like a Chief Minister at least once in his term. Resorting to peddling fake news over a tragic issue like paper leaks is abhorrent and demeans your position,” he said.

Rama Rao categorically denied having any ownership, financial, business or family links with Globarena Technologies. “Let me reiterate once again. BRS, my family and I have no links whatsoever with Globarena. If you cannot prove your allegations within 48 hours, tender an unconditional public apology. Otherwise, you will face civil, criminal and defamation proceedings,” he said.

Rejecting allegations that Globarena was his benami company or that he had helped it secure examination-related contracts, Rama Rao termed the charges fabricated and politically motivated. He questioned the Congress government’s own dealings with the company. “If Globarena is really my benami company, why did your government sign agreements with it? How can you enter into contracts with a company and then claim it belongs to me?” he asked.

He alleged that Revanth Reddy was attempting to divert attention from the controversy over the alleged NEET examination irregularities instead of questioning the BJP-led Union government.

“The responsibility for the NEET issue lies with the Centre. Students across the country are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. But the Chief Minister does not even dare to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name. Instead, he is making baseless allegations against me,” the former Minister said.

He also criticised Revanth Reddy for holding a political protest in Kodangal instead of questioning the BJP-led Union government over the NEET controversy.

Alleging a tacit understanding between the Congress and the BJP, Rama Rao said the Chief Minister was avoiding confrontation with the Centre because of political compulsions. “Revanth Reddy is afraid to question Prime Minister Modi as he fears the reopening of old cases like Cash for Vote. He is with the Congress during the day and with the BJP at night,” he remarked. He pointed out that the Centre had also remained silent on BRS complaints related to the alleged irregularities in Singareni and AMRUT projects involving the Congress government in Telangana.

Responding to Congress leaders’ demand for an inquiry, the BRS Working President said he was ready to face any investigation. “I am prepared for a CID, CBI, SIT or any other probe. Let the truth come out. But is the government willing to order investigations into allegations involving Revanth Reddy’s family, the Srujan Reddy issue, and Singareni and AMRUT contracts?” he asked.

He challenged the Chief Minister to undergo a live narco analysis test. “Let both of us sit together before the people and take a live lie detector test. I have absolutely no connection with Globarena and have nothing to fear. Let the truth come out on every allegation,” he said.

Rama Rao said a person holding the offices of Chief Minister and Home Minister must act responsibly and avoid making unverified allegations for political gain. He reiterated that Revanth Reddy should withdraw his statements and issue an unconditional apology within 48 hours, failing which legal action would follow.
