Mancherial: Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao appears to be just a tweet away from help for all those seeking assistance. On Thursday, the Minister proved again that he is accessible and available for those in need, extending help in a matter of hours and winning the hearts of people in the process. This time, the Minister came to the rescue of a differently-able person of Nennal mandal centre in the district.
Thode Krishna Reddy, a software engineer of Nelwai and settled in the US, narrated the plight of Annarapu Santhosh, who was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, by tagging KT Rama Rao on Twitter. The software engineer urged the Minister to come to Santosh’s rescue by giving him a tricycle. In response, Rama Rao urged District Collector Bharati Hollikeri to take care of Santosh as early as possible. Krishna Reddy and the family members of Santosh expressed gratitude to the Minister for his swift response.
Santosh’s family members said they have been running from pillar to post to get a tricycle for him. Santosh’s mother Laxmi said, “We have submitted an application with the authorities of Disabled Welfare Department in 2020 but in vain. My son can appear for exams in distance mode if he is provided with a tri-cycle.”
District Welfare Officer Durgam Umadevi told ‘Telangana Today’ that steps are being taken to extend all support to the youngster. “A battery-run tri-cycle would be given to him soon. Similarly, his candidature would be considered for sanctioning a loan. We will assist him in realising his dream of appearing in the SSC examinations too,” she explained. Meanwhile, The Field Response Officer (FRO) belonging to the Elder Line, Farzana visited Santosh’s home and interacted with his parents and assured them of all support.
