Wanaparthy: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Saturday urged the Congress government to take note of the Telangana High Court’s judgment disqualifying Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender and apply the same legal principle to the remaining MLAs who defected from the BRS to the Congress.
He demanded that all MLAs who defected from the BRS to the Congress resign and face the people’s verdict. If the Congress government was confident of people’s support, it should ask the defected MLAs to resign and seek a fresh mandate, he said.
Speaking to media persons at Pebbair here on Saturday, the BRS working president said the High Court had set aside the Speaker’s decision in Nagender’s case. The same legal principle should be applied to the remaining cases, he stressed.
“We challenge the Congress government to make the remaining defected MLAs resign and face elections,” Rama Rao said.
