Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the insensitive remarks of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar, terming them shameful. He asserted that notwithstanding what the people in power opine, it is the power of people that really matters.

“Dr Ambedkar will remain one of the greatest leaders and intellectuals of who preached Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. He will always be remembered and respected by Indians for many generations, (sic)” he said.

He said while the Congress leaders show love for Ambedkar in Delhi for their political gains, they disrespect him in Hyderabad. “They (Congress leaders) disrespect Babasaheb on his birth and death anniversaries, by denying people access to the 125 feet Ambedkar statue,” he added.
