Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the attack on noted environmentalist Duscharla Satyanarayana in Suryapet district. He urged the State government to ensure the best medical care for the activist and called for immediate and stringent action against the accused.
Satyanarayana, founder of Jala Sadhana Samithi and an activist against fluoride issues in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, was allegedly attacked by a group of locals when he objected to tree felling and grazing in a forest area he had developed at Raghavapuram village.
He spent over a decade transforming 70 acres of ancestral land into a green zone, which is now used for environmental research. He sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
