Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao expressed his deep condolences on the demise of Gussadi dance maestro Kanaka Raju, who brought fame to the Adivasi folk dance for of Gussadi.
In a statement here, Rama Rao conveyed his profound sympathy to Kanaka Raju’s family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Kanaka Raju, hailing from Marlavai village in Asifabad district, brought national recognition to the Gussadi dance.
He even performed at the Red Fort, he said, praising Kanaka Raju for dedicating his life to the Gussadi dance and acknowledged the Centre’s recognition of his contributions by awarding him the Padma Shri. He fondly remembered Kanaka Raju’s services to the Adivasi arts.
