KTR dares Congress to safeguard its deposits in Huzurabad bypolls

Hyderabad: TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday challenged the Congress party to safeguard its deposits in the upcoming bypolls for Huzurabad Assembly constituency. He exuded confidence that the TRS will emerge victorious in the byelections. He reminded that a political novice had defeated a senior politician in Nagarjuna Sagar bypolls and wondered if former Minister Eatala Rajender was bigger leader than former Minister K Jana Reddy.

In an informal interaction with the mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here, Rama Rao fired at the baseless and irresponsible remarks of the Opposition parties against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and others in the State government. He found fault with the Congress leaders calling him a brand ambassador for drugs and dared them to expose his involvement. “I am ready for drug analysis tests at any time. Is Rahul Gandhi ready to undergo drug analysis tests?” he questioned. He said a fool had written letter to the Enforcement Directorate and he need not respond to it.

He came down heavily on TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and strongly objected to the demeaning and abusive language being used by the Opposition leaders against the leaders of the ruling party. “We will not spare anyone and expose them at appropriate time. If they do not mend their ways, we will not hesitate to file sedition cases against them,” he said. In an indirect reference to Revanth Reddy, the Minister said that those who painted walls and earned crores of rupees through blackmail politics as well as those who ran away to face challenge posed by Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, can only talk absurd and are fit for nothing.

The TRS working president slammed the Opposition parties stating that the Delhi parties are resorting silly politics, but have failed to deliver what people of Telangana want. He said the ruling TRS was busy with governance, development and welfare programmes, while those in Opposition are resorting to antics to stay relavant. He found fault with the BJP leadership for trying to add a religious hue to the history and questioned if the BJP or Jan Sangh which are trying to milk political mileage out of September 17, had even existed when the Telangana Armed Struggle took place.

The Minister said though Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke at length during the BJP party meeting, he did not utter a word about the Centre allocating any project to Telangana. He stated that though the State government has been repeatedly requesting, the BJP-led Union government was not approving ‘pensions’ to the freedom fighters of Telangana Armed Struggle. He said no other party but BJP were scared of AIMIM in Telangana State.
