Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao distributed laptops to underprivileged girl students as part of an education initiative led by the Touch A Life Foundation at his residence in Nandinagar, Banjara Hills on Friday.

Seven students received laptops under the programme. They thanked him for the support, which would help them pursue their studies with confidence.

Interacting with the beneficiaries, Rama Rao enquired about their studies and urged them to aim high. He stressed the importance of technology in education and said digital access was key to self-reliance in today’s world.

“No girl should be deprived of education due to poverty,” he said, assuring continued support to such initiatives.

He also lauded the Foundation’s grassroots efforts and said such initiatives were vital for building an inclusive society.

The programme was coordinated by former corporator Samala Hema, during which the Foundation’s founders Vibhuti Jain and Reena Hindochha, along with students from marginalised communities, participated.

The foundation said it is working to identify girls from slums and disadvantaged backgrounds across Telangana, providing scholarships, mentorship, and guidance, to instill confidence and encourage leadership skills.
