Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and BJP MP CM Ramesh were jointly orchestrating a major corruption nexus involving land deals, multi-crore contracts, and fictitious projects.

He claimed Revanth Reddy’s brother-in-law was awarded a Rs 1,137 crore contract under the AMRUT scheme, and in a quid pro quo, the Congress government handed over a Rs 1,660 crore road contract to CM Ramesh for a non-existent “Future City” project.

Calling it the “biggest political conspiracy in Telangana’s history”, KTR challenged both leaders to a public debate, describing the alleged deal as a “disgraceful political conspiracy” and a “shameless scam.”

He further accused them of conspiring to misuse Rs 10,000 crore by mortgaging University of Hyderabad (UoH) lands, alleging that the road contract was a reward for CM Ramesh’s role in the land deal.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), KTR said his earlier warnings about this scam had been vindicated and accused the Congress and BJP of floating rumours about a BRS merger to divert attention from the scandal.

“BRS was born for Telangana and will never merge with any party,” he asserted, adding that such rumours surface whenever scandals involving the two parties come under scrutiny.

Challenging Revanth and CM Ramesh to a detailed debate on the Rs 10,000 crore UoH land scam and Rs 1,660 crore road contract deal, KTR said both leaders were “rats caught in a trap” and must answer the people.
