Hyderabad: In a birthday greeting to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, BRS working president KT Rama Rao served up a sarcastic brew, complete with chai, Osmania biscuits, and a cake-cutting invitation. His invitation went viral on social media, amid media reports that he had left for Malayasia to evade a speculated arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Formula-E racing event.
“I’m very much in Hyderabad. Your agencies are welcome anytime. Chai, biscuits, and if they’d like to cut your birthday cake, it’s on me,” quipped KTR, aiming a sharp barb at the Chief Minister’s recent calls for his arrest.
Turning the heat on the Chief Minister’s double standards, Rama Rao challenged him to act against MEIL (Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd) over the Sunkishala project wall collapse accident. “You, who loudly clamor for my arrest, will you dare to blacklist MEIL and arrest Krishna Reddy? Or does your courage vanish when it comes to your so-called ‘Andhra Contractor’?” he asked, referring to Revanth Reddy’s earlier rhetoric, branding MEIL as an “East India Company.”
The BRS working president didn’t stop there, questioning whether the Chief Minister’s alleged ties to MEIL compromised his commitment to Telangana’s interests.
“Are you now enslaved to MEIL after becoming Chief Minister that you are unable to question the company for their lacunae? How long will it take for you to prioritise Telangana First?” he taunted, calling out Revanth Reddy’s inaction on removing MEIL from the Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme.
