Hyderabad: In a kind gesture, BRS working president and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao has extended full financial support to para-athlete Mittapalli Archana, enabling her to represent India at the South Asian Para Throwball Championship in Sri Lanka from December 8 to 10.
Archana, a resident of Chandrampeta village in Rajanna Sircilla district, has been earning her livelihood through tailoring. She was selected by the Para Throwball Federation of India for the South Asian Championship. Due to her family condition, she faced financial hardship that threatened to prevent her participation in the event.
Upon learning about her situation, Rama Rao met Archana at his residence in Nandi Nagar in Hyderabad on Friday and assured her of complete financial assistance to cover travel, accommodation, and equipment expenses. He also provided her with sports gear and training material to help her prepare for the championship.
Describing Archana’s journey as inspirational, he said her story was a testament to courage and perseverance. “From a sewing machine in Chandrampeta to the international arena, she embodies the spirit of Telangana. We will ensure she becomes a source of pride for the state and the nation,” he added.
Archana thanked Rama Rao for his timely support, which will now allow her to fulfill her dream of representing India on the global stage.
