Hyderabad: Making a stark comparison between the status of the farming community during the current Congress rule and the BRS regime in the past, BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Revanth Reddy government, criticising its handling of the Rythu Bharosa scheme and loan waivers for farmers.

His comments came in response to recent statements by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao blaming the repeated queries about the fate and continuation of the farmer friendly initiatives by the present government.

He highlighted several issues with the Congress government’s approach to agricultural support. He emphasized that under the KCR government, farmers received support without having to ask for it, including the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes.

He pointed out that farmers were provided with irrigation and 24-hour free electricity without the need for making any requests. The government ensured purchase of crop produce till the last grain, providing a safety net for farmers.

Contrasting these achievements with the Congress government’s record, the BRS leader accused them of neglecting the agricultural sector. He said that decades of Congress rule in the undivided State had left the agricultural sector in shambles, forcing farmers to migrate for survival.

The Congress had made false promises, such as the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which he pointed out was not implemented. He also criticised the Congress for failing to deliver on their loan waiver promises, leaving farmers in financial distress.
