Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday lashed out at the Congress government, stating that it was pushing farmers into desperation over severe fertiliser shortage. He said farmers were forced to abandon their fields and spend the entire day at cooperative societies, waiting in vain for a single bag of fertiliser.
“They are standing in queues from morning till night without food or sleep. Even those waiting are turning away in despair when they cannot find a bag,” he said.
Recalling that fertilisers were available in abundance during the BRS regime, Rama Rao said the current crisis was unprecedented.
“Not being able to find even one bag under the Congress regime is a complete failure of the Revanth Reddy government,” he charged.
The remarks come amid reports from several districts of long queues, empty stock points and mounting frustration among farmers during the crucial sowing season.
