Mahabubabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao received a warm welcome from the BRS leaders at several places en route to Mahabubabad ahead of the Maha Dharna scheduled to be held from 11 am to 1 pm at the Tahsildar’s office on Monday. As per the High Court directions, the demonstration will be held with a limited 1,000 people comprising Dalits, tribals and farmers, in protest against the brutal police treatment in Lagacherla in Kodangal two weeks ago.
Rama Rao departed for Mahabubabad earlier in the day and en route, received a warm welcome from former Minister G Jagadish Reddy, and other party leaders at Kothagudem Crossroads in Yadadri Bhongir district. He also stopped at Choutuppal, Chityala, Narkatpally, Arvapally, and Maripeda Bangla, where supporters rallied to greet him.
The Mahadharna was originally planned for November 21 but was postponed, after the police denied permission in the last minute. The decision was challenged in the High Court, securing approval to hold the event on November 25. Party leaders made extensive arrangements for the dharna, which is expected to draw significant participation.
