Rajanna-Sircilla: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday chided the opposition parties, stating that if they believed they could score political brownie points by criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the State government, they were sadly mistaken.
Coming down heavily on the opposition for their frequent criticism, he said: “Does any State under the BJP or the Congress rule implement schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and 24-hour free power supply? Telangana is the only State in the country which is implementing all welfare schemes without any hiccups despite the Covid pandemic for the past year and a half.”
Rama Rao, accompanied by Road and Buildings Minister Vemula Prasanth Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Joginipalli Santhosh Kumar and TS Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar inaugurated Rythu Vedika, KDCC bank building and Vilasagar Lift Irrigation Scheme in Kodurupaka of Boinpalli mandal in the district. He also inaugurated double bedroom houses in Boppapur, Gollapalli and Yellareddypet mandal headquarters.
“Not only has Telangana topped the country in the paddy production, it is also the only State in the country to procure the entire paddy crop produced by the farmers in the State,” he said.
Rythu Vedhikas, an innovative initiative of the TRS government, would serve as a platform to bring about awareness among farmers about modern farming techniques, Rama Rao said, adding that this is the main objective of the Chief Minister.
Pointing out that Sircilla, in the past, was a drought-prone area, he said the district is now an expanse of green following the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. “The groundwater table in the district has shot up to six metres, and the achievements of the district are part of the curriculum for trainee IAS officers at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration,” he said.
Stating that Mid-Manair Dam has the heart of KLIS, the Minister promised to develop it as a popular tourism spot besides connecting it to the Vemulawada shrine.
