Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran CPM leader and former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, hailing him as an icon of honest, people-centric politics. He said Achuthanandan’s political journey, from being a founding member of the CPM to serving as Chief Minister and as Leader of the Opposition, stood as an enduring inspiration.
“His decades of service in the people’s interest will go down in history,” he said, conveying his condolences to the bereaved family and followers.
Former Minister T Harish Rao described Achuthanandan as a selfless leader whose legacy of integrity and public service would be remembered for generations. He recalled Achuthanandan’s relentless fight for public welfare, noting that his life would remain a guiding light for future generations.
MLC K Kavitha called his demise “a huge loss to the nation”, lauding his simple lifestyle and principled politics.
