Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao extended their heartfelt wishes to the people of Telangana marking the commencement of the Bathukamma festivities with “Yengili Poola Bathukamma” on Wednesday. Celebrated with great fervour by women across the State, the nine-day festival is a symbol of Telangana’s rich culture.

Taking to X, Rama Rao highlighted the uniqueness of Bathukamma, stating that Bathukamma is the only festival where nature is worshipped, and flowers are revered as the Goddess. He said Bathukamma is a symbol of Telangana’s culture and identity. “This festival, which lacked the due recognition in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, has been honoured as a State festival under the BRS government,” he said.

Former Minister Harish Rao described Bathukamma as a celebration of flowers and nature. He urged people to preserve Telangana’s cultural traditions for future generations by celebrating the festivities in all grandeur.
