Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao congratulated noted poet and writer Nandini Sidda Reddy on being selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award, calling it a moment of pride for Telangana.

In a statement, Rama Rao said Sidda Reddy, who was a prominent literary figure and the first chairman of the Telangana Sahitya Akademi, made significant contributions to modern Telugu poetry and Telangana literature. He said the award was a fitting recognition of the poet’s long literary journey and his role in promoting Telangana’s identity and culture through his works.

He also recalled Sidda Reddy’s association with the Telangana movement, stating that his songs and writings gave voice to the aspirations of the people and strengthened the demand for a separate State. He stated that Sidda Reddy’s role in literary organisations, including the Manjeera Writers’ Association, had brought recognition to Telugu literature.

Harish Rao also called Sidda Reddy a literary warrior who reflected the spirit of Telangana in his writings. He said the Sahitya Akademi award was true recognition of his contribution to the cultural and literary movement of the State.
