KTR, Harish Rao pay tributes to Konda Laxman Bapuji on death anniversary

BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao paid tributes to Telangana activist Konda Laxman Bapuji on his death anniversary, recalling his role in the freedom struggle, Telangana movement and commitment to weaker sections and handloom workers.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao and BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao paid tributes to Telangana activist Konda Laxman Bapuji on his death anniversary on Monday. They said he was an inspiration to all.

Rama Rao recalled Bapuji’s role in the freedom struggle and later, the Telangana statehood movement. He reminded that both the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) was founded and the final phase of the statehood movement took shape at Bapuji’s house at Jaladrushyam under K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership.

He said the previous BRS government honoured Bapuji by installing his statue at Tank Bund and also named the State Horticulture University after him.

Harish Rao said Bapuji demonstrated that true leadership meant standing with people rather than seeking positions. He recalled that the Telangana activist gave up his ministerial post during the 1969 Telangana agitation. He hailed his commitment to weaker sections and handloom workers.
