Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao sharply criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, for spreading baseless allegations to mislead the public on Adani Group projects in Telangana. He lambasted the Chief Minister over his failure to differentiate between the Central and State governments’ projects.

“Revanth Reddy’s recent press meet was filled with frustration and confusion. His allegations that the BRS government allocated national highway and defense projects to Adani are absurd. These projects are under the Central government jurisdiction. Does he even understand the basics of governance?” Rama Rao questioned. He felt that the Chief Minister got an earfull from his party high command to come out and reject the Rs 100 crore donation from Adani.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday, the BRS working president charged Revanth Reddy with wrongly attributing investments from global tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon to Adani, thereby tarnishing the State’s reputation.

“We brought Rs 67,000 crore in investments, including Rs 31,000 crore from Microsoft and Rs 36,000 crore from Amazon for establishing data centres in Hyderabad. But Revanth Reddy falsely claims these as Adani investments. Such ignorance hurts the State’s reputation,” he said.

Rama Rao also rejected the claims that the BRS government allocated projects like power transmission lines and dry ports to Adani. He clarified that these decisions also were under the Central government’s jurisdiction. “Will the defense department projects be in our hands? The Centre, not us, awarded these contracts. Revanth Reddy’s allegations show his lack of knowledge,” he remarked.

The BRS working president criticised Revanth Reddy’s leadership, calling him a “confused and sadistic Chief Minister.”

He stated that unlike the secret late night meetings of the Congress leaders with industrialist Gautam Adani, both himself and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had met the industrialist openly.

However, they rejected his proposals to invest in Telangana courteously, unlike Revanth Reddy who criticises Adani in Maharashtra, but signs agreements for investments in Telangana.

He condemned the Congress government’s dealings with Adani, citing inconsistencies. He suggested that Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy should work out on their inconsistencies as well.

“Revanth Reddy welcomed Adani with a red carpet in Telangana, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accuses Adani of fraud nationwide and demands for his arrest. Such contradictions expose a secret understanding between Congress and Adani. In fact, there is no difference between Congress and BJP in his case,” he said.

Rama Rao demanded for accountability, and dared Revanth Reddy to cancel all Adani contracts to regain public trust. He challenged the Chief Minister to prioritise state development over political theatrics. “If you truly care for Telangana, focus on the people, not conspiracies,” he suggested. He also advised Revanth Reddy to stop targeting the BRS leaders including former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and to refrain from hurling abuses to cover up his administrative failures.

The former Minister also lambasted the Chief Minister for prioritising political appeasement over State development.

“Revanth Reddy visited Delhi 28 times, not for Telangana’s welfare but to safeguard his chair through secret deals with BJP leaders,” he remarked. He stated that the Congress government is confusing the public with lies and propaganda, but Telangana deserves better governance than this chaotic mismanagement.
