Hyderabad: Industries Minister and TRS Working president KT Rama Rao said the paddy procurement issue was not just about farmers struggle but it was also about Telangana’s self-respect. On Saturday, the Minister shared a video clip on twitter, in which union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and State BJP president Bandi Sanjay assured that Central Government would procure entire paddy produced in Telangana.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had specifically alerted the farming community well in advance that Centre was not prepared to procure paddy produced during the yasangi season, he tweeted. “After influencing the farmers to take up paddy cultivation, the Centre is now enacting dramas to procure paddy produced during yasangi season in Telangana. This is not just about farmers’ struggle but it is also about Telangana’s self-respect,” KT Rama Rao tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the Minister took a dig at the Central Government over escalating fuel prices. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, India now ranks first in the world in terms of LPG and petrol and diesel prices, Rama Rao said.

“Finally, under the leadership of PM Modi Ji, India is No 1 in the world. Based on Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) dollar estimation. LPG price in India is highest in the world, Petrol price 3rd highest in the World, Diesel price 8th highest in the World,” the Minister tweeted.
