Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday formally launched Singidi Collective, a Hyderabad-based sustainable fashion brand aimed at reviving Telangana’s handloom heritage, while promoting eco-conscious consumption.
Unveiling the brand, Rama Rao said Telangana has a rich tradition of textile innovation, from Ikat to Gollabhama, and called Singidi Collective as a natural progression where traditional wisdom in natural dyeing meets contemporary design. He said it was encouraging to see young entrepreneurs building ethically rooted and economically viable brands. He said such initiatives were not merely about fashion but about sustainability and the dignity of weavers.
Named after the Telangana word for “rainbow,” Singidi Collective draws its identity from a palette of natural colours extracted from plants, roots and flowers, avoiding synthetic chemicals. The brand combines organic, rain-fed cotton with modern silhouettes, positioning indigenous craftsmanship for a global and environmentally conscious consumers.
Founder Vishwa Saradhi and other representatives thanked Rama Rao for his support to the handloom sector. The collection features gender-fluid designs made from hand-spun and hand-woven textiles, targeting consumers who value transparency, provenance and storytelling.
