Hyderabad: Industries Minister KT Rama Rao met with German Ambassador Walter J Lindner on Friday and said the State government was prepared to invite investments from automobile and manufacturing sectors companies from Germany.

Reminding the German Ambassador that already a few companies were approached during World Economic Forum and at other events, the Industries Minister asked him to cooperate in organising a special meeting with the German giants and introduce them to investment opportunities in Telangana.


He said after the formation of the Telangana government, the State was successfully getting international investments with its revolutionary and ideal policies. “Telangana stands as one of the most successful States in the country, which gets to draw international investments,” said Rama Rao.

During the meeting, the Minister shared details pertaining to different sectors in Telangana and inquired about the policies in Germany, especially those connected with the industry and education sector.

The Minister specifically sought details about the measures taken in ensuring the success of micro and medium enterprises in Germany, particularly their performance and role in contributing to the economy, besides the assistance extended by the government to the enterprises.

He asked about the dual degree courses being offered to the students and the steps taken in making them industry-ready and employable. Informing the Ambassador that many Telangana students were heading to Germany for higher education after engineering, the Minister asked about the initiatives that are required to be taken up here for the benefit of such students.

German Ambassador Walter J. Linder expressed special interest in the policies adopted by Telangana. Apart from conducive atmosphere, industry-friendly policies will aid in getting more companies to set up their units in the State, he said and assured all support in coordinating between Telangana and German industrial community in this regard. The German Ambassador was accompanied by Consul General in Chennai Karin Stoll.

Later in the day, Rama Rao met with Uzbekistan Ambassador Dilshod Akhatov and his team. The Uzbekistan delegation, which is touring Telangana for two days, explained about the investment opportunities available in pharma and other sectors in their country.

Briefing about the investment opportunities in their country, the Ambassador asked the Minister to cooperate in meeting with the industrialists operating from the State. He said by connecting the industrial sectors from the State with those in their country, the move would aid in further mutual development.
